Modern Medicine, or Herbalism - How to Choose?
As someone who has spent years working in both modern medicine and herbalism, I can tell you that having knowledge in both areas is incredibly empowering. When you understand the benefits and limitations of both modern medicine and herbalism, you can make more informed decisions about your own health and well-being.

For example, while modern medicine can be incredibly effective for certain health issues, it often focuses on treating symptoms rather than addressing the underlying causes of the problem. The way I practice herbal medicine, on the other hand, takes a more holistic approach, focusing on the whole person and addressing the root causes of health issues.

So whether you're dealing with a specific health issue or just looking to enhance your overall well-being, I believe that having knowledge in both modern medicine and herbalism can be incredibly valuable. And as a clinical herbalist and healthcare professional, I would be honored to help guide you on your own health and wellness journey.

Why Herbal Medicine?
Herbal medicine involves taking a holistic approach to healing, focusing on the whole person and addressing the root causes of health issues. The aim is to restore balance and promote optimal health. Herbal remedies can be used to treat a wide range of health issues, from minor ailments like headaches and digestive issues to more serious conditions like chronic pain and autoimmune disorders. Additionally, many herbal remedies have fewer side effects than pharmaceutical drugs, making them a safer and more natural option or compliment for those seeking to improve their health.

For tens of thousands of years, humans have co-evolved with plants, making herbal medicine the oldest and most natural form of healing.

Navigating health challenges can be difficult...
I have a personal connection to what it's like to live with significant health challenges. Over the years I have been diagnosed with autoimmune diseases, PTSD, anxiety, and depression, as well as a host of sports injuries and other ailments. Many times I was told I had limited treatment options, and that I would need to rely on pharmaceuticals for the rest of my life.

But I wasn't content to accept this fate. These experiences prompted me to begin to explore alternative and complementary forms of medicine, including herbalism. Through my own research and experimentation, I discovered the incredible healing power of herbs and their ability to address the root causes of health issues.
As I continued to delve deeper into the world of herbalism, I became increasingly passionate about sharing this knowledge with others. I trained as a clinical herbalist and began working with clients to help them build wellness and balance in their lives.
Through my work, I've seen firsthand the limitations of modern medicine when it comes to treating chronic health issues. I have seen that many patients feel disempowered and frustrated by the limited options available to them, and they are desperate for a more holistic and sustainable approach to healing.
That's where herbal medicine comes in. By taking a whole-person approach to healing, herbalism offers a natural and effective alternative and compliment to pharmaceuticals and medical interventions. It allows patients to take control of their own health and build long-term solutions to their health challenges.
My Story
As a nurse with 19 years of experience working in healthcare, I have worked with countless patients from diverse backgrounds and stages of life. This has given me insights into the full spectrum of health challenges and their effects on people, deepening my compassion and understanding of the human experience.
As well, I am a certified Western Clinical Herbalist and medicine maker. Over the last two decades I have developed deep relationships with many herbs that support healing. I take an embodied and reciprocal approach to my work, and I am also connected to my ancestral lineages, including my indigenous lineages from Turtle Island. I have treated many people, including myself, and ground my work in spirit through ceremonial practices, and tending to myself in a wholistic way.

Working Together
Together, we will embark on a journey towards better health through three main steps: a free consultation, holistic intake, and a personalized plan for herbal medicine and education.

1. Book a Free Consultation: This is a pressure-free opportunity to get to know each other. I will get an idea of where you are at on your journey, offer initial advice to support you, and begin teaching you about the power of herbal medicine. If we are a good fit, you can select one of my packages to work together.
2. Holistic Intake: During this session, I will learn about any health challenges you are facing and explore any treatments you have tried so far. We will examine all aspects of your health - mind, body, spirit, and emotions - so that we can work together to address any health challenges at their source.
3. Personalized Plan: I will select herbal medicines that I'm confident will help you and teach you how to take direction of your health. Rather than fighting against your body, we will focus on building a foundation rooted in balance and harmony. With this plan and education, you will have the clarity, direction, and empowerment you need to start your healing journey, and I will be there to support you along the way.
